Readiness exercise of the Hellenic Air Force

The performance of the reaction of the Hellenic Air Force was excellent in a readiness exercise conducted by order of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff.
The test was part of the evaluation of the joint operations rapid reaction force. The order was given suddenly to the Squadrons of the Hellenic Air Force as if it were a real operation, a response to an incident in the Aegean.
All aircraft that should be available by every Squadron (and the appropriate weapons they had to carry) took off on time and then headed towards the ordered region.
More than 20 fighter jets of all types, (F-16s Block 52M up to Block 52+, F-4E AUP and even A-7E, as well as other aircraft of the HAF, including an Erieye EMB-145H AEW&C) participated in the exercise which is believed that took place on the southwestern Aegean. Although little information is available reaction times were better than expected and the implementation of the orders of the Chief of Defence was considered entirely satisfactory.
